The Harper Family...established 10.22.11

Ok, so we thought that it was time to get on the bus and start a blog. We hope that this will be a good way to keep our family and friends up to date on our lives. What better to way to kick off this blog but share stories about the day that we became a family.

On Saturday, Oct 22nd 2011, Mike and I got married, and it rocked. When people ask me to describe the day, all I can honestly say is it was perfect. We started the day getting ready in our own ways. Mike and the boys went to the PT (Park Tavern) in SLP (St Louis Park) and kicked off the morning with breakfast and bowling. The girls on the the other hand all went to my parent's house in EP, and got our hair and makeup done. I never realized how much I would love all being together in my childhood home as I prepared for my wedding day. It set the perfect tone for a perfect day. We all then headed to Pax Christi in EP to get dressed, and start our photos. It was a gorgeous fall day, and we were lucky enough to get some great photos outside.

The ceremony began at 2:30 pm, and my dad walked me down the aisle to Angel Eyes, his favorite song for as long as I remember. It was a moment that I have dreamed about my whole life, and I always knew the part about walking with my dad would be awesome, but it was the man at the end of the aisle that made it one of the top moments of my life thus far. The ceremony was pretty short, especially for being at a Catholic Church, but it was incredibly special. I could not stop smiling the whole time, for many reasons: 1. I was marrying the man of my dreams, and that pretty much rocks. 2. My niece Kensley took it upon herself to dance twirl in the aisle during our unity candle song, take pictures on her disposable camera during the blessing and whisper yell for her cousin Damien in the back of the church. 3. All of our family and friends were in the same place to celebrate our union. I honestly just kept looking around and taking it all in, and I couldn't stop smiling!

The ceremony was followed by a trolley ride around EP and Lake Minnetonka, and a reception at Bearpath Golf Club in EP. The setting was perfect, the food was great, and the dance floor was never empty. Pretty much what I always hoped my wedding would be and more!

It is so hard to believe that the day is over, but we both think that now the fun stuff starts. We are married, and 3 weeks in, it's pretty great! We are enjoying having some free time again, and relaxing at home with our puppy Piper...well she doesn't really relax all that often, but we like hanging out with her anyway.

We're looking forward to the holidays and lots more time with friends and family!

Below are a few pics of the wedding, and links to our engagement and same day films from Oceanwide studios, we were so lucky to have them capture every moment!
